Hi! So i've finally taken the time to start up a sketchbook, as opposed to just lurking around the amazing art on here.

Both of these are basically just copies for practice, the first one of an apple I was going to eat, and the second of a photo of my friend.

Hey there, nice start.:)

Really like the second one. The speculars on the apple are maybe a bit dull.

Looking forward for more stuff.

Cheers

thanks, I think your right about the apple, you can barely see them.

if anyone has a moment, any idea what is going on with that arm?

other than being a smudgy mess at the moment that is. I've been fiddling with this all evening, and it looks really odd to me, the hand looking like a dead spider probably isn't helping. Should I just try flipping the hand around to try and get it looking more natural?

mate, read up on some anatomy, bone structure and muscles and whatnot, then come back to it and analyse what's going on.

Get some studies going!

great work on the portrait, you've handled the tones quite well. the drawing is a little off, but I do like how you've done the lights. good stuff!

keep it up !

your first two pictures are top noch!
like nethus said. just brush up and practice with anatomy and your well on your way to tighter stuff!
its just the limbs look abit too stretched also possibly use more harder bruhes on that piece? unless your going for a smudgey look but more darkert and solid strokes on that anyway!
keep going . hope to see more!
