Hey I did two drawings of a girl made for a brazillian book I think. I guy asked me to do some for a book he's writing to teach kids about HIV. I did these rather quick and for free, as it is for a good cause. Maybe it can have some inpact on kids, then it's worth the job :)

Btw, I'm also doing this fun thing before the thunderdome contest on my website. I'm planning to show all the progress sketching for the the picture I thought of contribute. I just hope I will manage to finish something in time.

anyway, if you have any interest, you can take a look at it in my website...

I knew a guy who's cousin got HIV when she went on a vacation, by one of the deaths-horsemen thing. As she left on her plane, she got the gift package from the guy, that she met and slept with there. Opened it and it was a little coffin with the note saying "welcome to the land of the dead you have HIV". Imagine the pricks who do that kind of thing.

the second one is very nice, well thought out and the outline really gives it punch! not to mention it conveys the idea well and clear.

as for the first one, i like the figure but the background figures are to mushy, (i know they should blur a bit) but it seems sloppy.......

so me more! :):)

That second work is well done...I agree with Davi that the orange line work really sets this piece off. And the setting with the large pic on the wall finish it nicely. Check out "The Drawing Board" forums for some of the best work of this genre. http://pub127.ezboard.com/fcartoonandillustrationparadise66133frm2

Very nice! This work and the work on your website. I really like the Anarchy online cover concept (not the cover, the concept), it's really interesting to see the sketchy quality. :)

I dont know if this is on purpose but i cant help but notice that the bear in the second one has a strange placement of right leg, left leg and right hand that looks like.....something *WINK WINK* And its on her bed and everything so...

I love it tho dont get me wrong :D

Just thought it might have been on purpose, but if it aint then its still great.

Hey Guys, thanks for liking them.
Yes I agree that some of it like the people behind the beachgirl is a bit rushed. Infact, they are both quite rushed, I know I could have done them a lot better, but since I was busy and did these for free I had to cut some corners. But still I feel that they work ok, and I hope they will fit well in the book that they are made for.
clock tower, you asked what they have to do with aids. I think they are a part of a story, were something bad happens with aids I don't know. Atleast the purpose is that in Brazil there's a lot of hiv going on but kids don't take it seriously. So I guess this book is suppose to appeal to kids so maybe they will care more. That's all I know.

just to post some more, here's a quick color key for a project we are bout to strt in our company. Nothing much at all, just thought I'd post something (got nothing to do with HIV though :) )

"The 'AIDS Harry' version (man infects woman) usually features a romance of some duration taking place in a faraway place. The depraved infector passes along his good news by way of a gift, which he asks his victim to unwrap once she's on the plane home. Depending upon where you hear this story, the gift will be a minature coffin (ceramic or wooden) or a coffee mug. Whichever item it is, it will invariably be emblazoned with the message 'WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF AIDS.'"
