Hey Folks,
On the heels of JoshaJames' NC Wyeth post I thought I'd post some pics from my old 1914 first edition of Pyle's Otto of the Silver Hand. Pyle wrote and illustrated a number of different children's adventures at the turn of the century, many deriving from the Arthurian Myths.

I look at Pyle's linework not for his chunky Durer-like details, but more for his sense of theaterical shadow drop outs, and over all design...

Hope you dig em,

Chuck Lukacs

Get on in here Pyle..

 Hmmm... Sorry if your getting the compression fuzz that I see in some of these files... Can't quite figure why it's doing that ???

Try scanning one in gif format (since it doesnŽt use lossy compression and see if there is any difference.
Since they are black and white, 256 grey scale should be enough.

Thanks for posting these, they look interesting. I hope my advice helps since IŽd really like to see the line work better.

Hey thanks for the color work Joshua, I was kinda hoping you'd post yer Pyle... And all this time I thought I was an Illustrator, sans the pirates.. Does a halfling swinging from a rope count ?? Lol...

I'll try to compress as .gifs next time PaperSlayer and see what happens.. Please forgive, I'm still a bit new to this link posting, instead of just attachments...
