Well I figured that I'm going to start a journal.

I am not sure if there was a journal area but I couldn't find one so I chose this section.

Yesterday when I finished watching Hikaru no Go I was immediately changed. My state of mind jump back on and I said to myself that I want to be an artist.
-I had drawn before but I quit wasn't any good anyway but i could copy not trace.

So now I am going to post my progress in hopes that I can get some help and that someone like me can come here and get motivated.

I am going to scan some of my old art (don't expect much of em). To show the difference over the coming weeks, months, years maybe even.

I want to be an artist with the ability to make beautiful captivating anime or animated films like Miyazaki. I know it sounds farfetched but I am gonna try and see how far I can go.

Sky's the limit.

Are you talking about a sketchbook? They have them under "sketches and doodles" at the top, theres a daily sketchbook thread. Thought I might let you know. Also, (people already hate me for saying this) but drawing anime first is a big step in the wrong direction if you are going to become a serious artist. Of course there are people in the anime field that make wonderful lives, but just think in 5 years, will you still be drawing anime?
I heard a quote once that said "Learn to draw a bull with 4 legs, before you can draw one with 5." I don't know who said it! I'll look into it. But what I'm saying is that you may want to interpret life how you see it, not how someone in Japan sees it.
Well however you go, good luck on it.

Thanks for replying.

I really like the anime style. I'm not going to start drawing anime or manga first. As you said its a bad step to take first.
At first I want to be able to draw regular shapes like fruits, basic things.

One step at a time then after a long while to anatomy, etc. Then I'll jump into the anime style. But I dont mean professionally but for myself. I want to be able to draw and paint like the masters.

I want to be able to produce art.EDIT I want to try but fall back on my other skills if neccesary.
