My 1st post- let me just say I really appreciate the art community here, something I've missed since college- that being said,

I usually work in oil, this particular piece is to show "John Heny", an american tall tale. Thru the piece I want to portray, action, intensity, even hope.

Frustrated about the mountain, not convincing, if so, in an abstract way I was not going for.
Don't know if Henry poise is exciting enough.- or even if that's convincing.
Trying to do this thing where a sunrise & where he hits the hammer both emenate from the same point.
'Bout to pull out my dreads over this thing

Not a great photo either, but hope this can generate a response- thx

I can see it, and I can see massive glare which makes knowing what the actual picture looks like very difficult.

Set up two lights on either side of the painting at angles more shallow than 45 degrees in a darkened room, which will reduce the glare. Or you can wait for an overcast day to get even lighting. Or go into a shadow on the north side of a building to get even light. And use a tripod or a ladder or something to steady the camera to make sure you get a clean image.

will do, I'll be back.
