Like the robot. i advise you to use a mixture of both.
The actual armour is the colour of the browny tinge and give it blue highlights.

Just my advice.... keep workin at it

I may be wrong, but I think there are some conflicting light sources. The chest, lower arm and leg is lit from above-left. The shoulder, back, upper arm and "ass" from above-right. I cant tell from where the head is lit. If you indeed intend for there to be two light sources perhaps make them different colours. The black areas seem a bit blurry as well.

Anyways, just some observations, keep it up.
