I'm sorry if there is already a thread like this, but I could not find anything with the search function.
I'm currently looking for a good online gallery site to put my portfolio online. It should be for free, and have a clean and simple layout and not be crammed with ads like most sites. I've seen something like this lately but can't find it anymore. :(

Of course. Well, dA with it's ugly grey-green background, ads and stupid comments everywhere is exactly what I was not looking for.

I was being sarcastic but I really don't know of any

Deviant art really isn't that ugly and I never see any of the ads so I don't use firefox. It's not professional but it still is a free gallery.

STOP RIGHT THERE.

I recommend blogger, (they let you keep your copyright, unlike evil facebook)

and lets not talk about deviantart? i know thats a bit rich coming from someone with my signature, but we just had a huge thread concerning it, and i'll get into trouble!

Do you search something like www.flickr.com?

Most galleries are going to have ads unless you are paying for your space. DA has been discussed at length and I believe the consensus is that it's a good satelite location for some of your work in order to drive people to your main portfolio site.

That being said, there are lots...Ebsqart.com, ArtWanted.com, Epilouge.net, GFXArtist.com, Wetcanvas.com, etcetc. Sites are specific to the type of art you can upload though (excepting DA and AW I think) and there are more out there depending on what you do (animation, comics, graphic design, etc) so click around to find out.

how about SHEEZYART! (www.sheezyart.com)
i'm joking, that's no good.

On a serious note though MyArtSpace (http://www.myartspace.com/), seems rather professional (even with its myspace-like name).
I can't say much about it, i signed up thinking it looked really good and haven't been back due to a lack of time,
it's probably worth checking out though

Thank you all for your suggestions. MyArtSpace and Carbonmade are both looking good.

Yes it is... quality of the art or people on the site aside... that site is an eyesore to look at. Clumsy interface, to boot.

you should consider reading this first, before you go with the free sites mentioned above.

I'm sorry, that I write in this column of water, but I would like to know how you solve the problem of poor-quality water? What put a filter for water? They say reverse osmosis system (http://www.bluefilters.ua/products/osmoses/new-line-ro-7-gwr.html) is the most ideal filter? Answer will be grateful!

as with most threads in the lounge this one has gone stunningly off the rails...

but to reiterate (i love that word.) Blogger (http://www.blogger.com/home) is really good for portfolio's, or at least i think so.
