hi,

ive put up 3 new mini 3d arcade games up at www.starbasec3.com/axel/arcade.htm

all were made using Axel, none had any programmming used( done by a designer not a programmer) and each took less then 3 hrs to set up and get online,:)

id like to find a number of concept artists that are well versed in realtime 3d and game visual design who would be interested in working with Axel creating the next level of web interactive content.

oh yeah, its both mac and pc, ie and netscape playback, and also plays back realtime3D in the Quicktime player..

pretty cool stuff:)

those are pretty cool. I have a tiny bit of time to offer, but not much. let me know what you are looking for in the way of art and I can see it I can get it to you. i never heard Axel, so I don't know about the learning curve. sure it wouldn't be hard, though. email me....

hi,
Axel is from some ex softimage guys who founded www.mindavenue.com i recc. a visit to the company site to read about it, get demos, and see galleries of content made in it...check out the 007 james bond 3d game..........

email me directly if you like at larryr@cube3.com, maybe send some pointer urls to youre bio /what you do etc....

what i really want to do is get axel into the hands of those designinf cool stuff for games. films, commercials etc and let them see how it all can now be 3d on the net as well, as appossed to only fake flash 2.5d.

your email gives me an idea, maybe if the forum leaders are into it, we could do a "group" forum project using smaller amounts of individuals time using axel.......those games took one person 3 hrs each....by adding some 3d models, some cool background visuals etc...each basic "shooter" game concept could get real intersesting looking.....and axel has one of the easiest/best designed interfaces ive used in 3d over the years..makes flash look hard..lol

thanks.
yeah, the files are actaully quite small maybe no more than 500k each game. i have to double check that.
the tank gamer was first done with a simpler plane for the surface and no enemy tanks..it was only 60k then....lol

part of what ael and the new web3d offers are scenes that actually are much miore effictent and smaller than flash.......

im actually playing with the v2 axel beta this weekend that also exports flash files for those who want to to swift3d like projects.......but ill hopefully put up some comparison files soon.

i really wantr to get some cutting edge design looks made into web3d with axel..so let me know.
