In order to convincingly recreate the effects of the light, it is useful to thoroughly study less complicated set-ups.
I think the complex arrangements are a bit distracting and my eye doesn't have a chance to rest. And because you're treating all objects separately in terms of value you're not guiding the viewer and creating a sense of space. These more abstract compositions that you show in some of them would really benefit from a well established value structure. I would advise you to draw a simple still life setup, preferably a round organic object for example to study the effects of the light.
