Does anyone have some good links.. I am so eager to begin learning how to use Painter 8. I've played around with the brushes and other tools, but I'd love to get to learn how to use P8. Thanks

Ok, then I have another question.. I've just started to learn how to draw the anatomy of a body.. I've never had a teacher and I want to take some figure drawing classes and get several books. Can you guys list some books that would be worth purchasing to help teach myself how to get proportions right and the human anatomy.

Hi,

Someone else will have to help you with anatomy, but you're most welcome to join us at TutorAlley Forums. It's a site focused on Painter, all versions from 5 through 8, and you'll pick up a lot of knowledge there and be able to ask all the questions you want.

Later, if you're interested, I'll be teaching Painter 8 classes and you can sign up.

I'm waiting 'til the Painter 8.1 patch is released so I can include appropriate information to cover some things that will be different and hopefully very helpful.

In any case, though I teach in private forums, our open forums are available for all members to enjoy and we have a fairly active community.

The URL's below my signature. Just register and make sure you read the linked page at the top of the Policies page and fill in the profile fields accordingly so there won't be a delay.

Good luck with the anatomy info. I'm sure there are some good people here who can help, or direct you to the right place.

You're gonna love Painter 8 when you get used to it.

I can recommend you Andrew Loomis' books. You can find 3 of these books linked (download them for free :D) at the tutorials section of GFXArtist:
http://www.gfxartist.com/features/tutorials

I recommend to read at first: "Figure Drawing For All Its Worth".
Then you should pass to "Drawing the Head and Hands" (download this 4th book for free at http://fineart.interweb.cz/LoomisBooks/heads/page_01.htm).

Hope you like these books... bye! ;)

Hey Jin,

I get this message
"Sorry, we were unable to find your age information. It appears that your browser did not send the information to us properly. Please make sure your browser accepts cookies from this UBB. You can not register or log in without cookies.

Any ideas how i can get this to work in IE explorer 6.

When you're in IE, click Tools > Internet Options. Click the Privacy tab and then click "Edit" at the bottom. Then type in the web addy and click "OK". That should do it. If all else fails, set the slider to "Accept All Cookies".
