So Chaoticknight and I were feeling the need to get our butts in gear and get excited over art again. For one reason or another DEEP isn't really tickling our fancies so we decided to create a mini thunderdome.

TOPIC:
Divine Prophecy
Interpret this in any way you like. The goal is to create a communicative and beautiful piece of art. You can have a short (small paragraph) description if you like, but the art should also be able to stand on its own and communicate the theme effectively.

SKILL LEVEL / PARTICIPATION:
Anyone can join and compete. ChaoticKnight and I are pretty much intermediate and it would be nice if there was a level playing field but really, if you want to join say so here. We're not going to chase anyone down for their submissions either, so make sure you keep an eye out for updates.

TIME FRAME:
Sunday July 6th is the end day: post your finished piece in this thread (please only edit posts to update your artwork, so only one post with artwork in it) anytime on Sunday so that I can make a voting thread for this on Monday.

Okay guys looks like we have a decent amount of people so I guess we can 'start' which I guess doesn't mean much anyways since the topic was always revealed. Start when you want and if people want to join in still, come on in, there's no deadline for signing up.

Compared to most of the people here who have been doing classic realistic work for years, I really am an amateur. I worked as a printmaker, sculptor and graphic designer/cartoonist most of my life, and my paintings were all surrealist pieces something like Klee or the Mexican muralists would do, so this stuff is a bit new to me. Thanks for the compliment, anyway...

I'm obviously out, too. Ran into some "technical" problems with mine last minute--had to go back to my vector original and correct a stupid mistake i didn't notice-- and just can't make it. My apologies. Now I have to go back to repairing my bathroom (for real, it's been in pieces scattered all over the house for the last two weeks), so I'll finish this later this week and post it then just so I can to at least say I finished. (It's Egyptian themed, btw...)
