I recently saw some of the webisodes of the scifi/fantasy/horror series Sanctuary (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanctuary_%28web_series%29). They just use green screens and the actors to shoot this series. All sets are completely done in CGI and look quite good (most of the times).

It's kind of a nice mix between gaming, video and internet (though the gaming part is still in the works). Fans are encouraged to discuss and place their storylines and art on the official forum. Several extra unedited scenes of the actors in front of the green screen are usually provided for the fans to work on (and are encouraged to share on places like YouTube). You can also remix the video of the existing episodes.

SciFi has recently greenlit a 13 episode season of the series on TV.

I don't particularly like the storyline (probably because I have little affection for this fantasy/horror Buffy/Angel genre), but I thought the idea was kind of cool. They're using some okay actors for this and it's now commercially picked up, so who knows where it might lead to.
