Senior Concept Artist
Pandemic Studios develops high-profile titles for some of the top publishers in the industry. With a series of best-selling hit releases, Pandemic has built a reputation as a premier developer of innovative, award winning games for all major platforms.
The Senior Concept Artist creates original art that captures the mood and style that the Director is envisioning for the project. This original art work sets the tone and style of the game. At this level, the Senior Concept Artist works closely with the Art Director and Lead to help define the look and style of the game. The main goal of the concept artist is to convey a visual representation of a design, idea, and/or mood for use in the game before it is put into the final product.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Collaborates with Art Director and Art Leads to help develop the art style for the game.
* Creates original concept art for key characters, worlds and assets in the game.
* Visually communicates on design ideas throughout pre-production and production.
* Creates final concept drawings and pre-production materials for marketing and PR activities, when required.
* Generates production art work for all areas of the game.
* Develops story boards for game animations and cinematics.
* Mentors and trains mid-level and junior concept art staff.
Required:
* Undergraduate degree, or distinguished college coursework in relevant fields, or proven portfolio of industry experience.
* Must have worked on and shipped a successful AAA title as a Concept Artist.
* 4+ years experience of game art or related experience.
* Adobe Photoshop experience is required.
* The ability to derive original concept artwork from realistic reference material is required.
* Must have strong abilities in sketching, color concept comps and photorealistic rendering methods.
* Has a positive attitude, collaborates and communicates effectively with others.
* Demonstrates innovation, vision, creativity, initiative and passion.
* Demonstrates accountability and reliability, and effective problem solving, prevention, and resolution skills.
