I have been experimenting using inc to make a focus point on this drawing - turned out quite intresting :)
PROCESS:
I began with sketching with HB, then I went deeper with a 3B doing the dark parts and 2H for the light parts. As a finale touch, I used a fineliner to bring out a focus.
I drew this for 2 hours.
Do comment and crit on my method and do come with your opinions and suggestions ^^

Thanks for your critique on my Indy.... I'm gonna blow up the reference...and hope that helps...
Your pencil rendering is very nice...it would be nice to see some of those scanned, or shown in higher resolution.
I find whenever I use PS to draw/paint that drawing and erasing is much faster, I usually work too sloppy and have to slow myself down to get the kind of quality I want...

No problems mate and thank you for your comment :) Yes, I'll try making my scanner work - Just have to find a component to be able to install it hehe ^^
Yeah, it takes alot of time making those details and I have to admitt: I got lucky this time with my pen-stokes ... which I usually don't get (hihi) ;)

I love your pencil renders, just beautiful work. And I really liked the way the pencil with ink touches turned out a lot.

Your pencils look great (as well as your digital color). I have used the pencil/ink combo for years and it works well.
Keep it up!

Great breakdown in post #3, I like your pencils a lot too. My fav is the piece with the flowers in the glass - you should get a scanner though because right now your shots are very blurred. Looking forward to updates :)

As for your process with them..I like it! :]

N1va: Tanks! :) Haha to be honest, I didn't expect #3 to turn out that fine, I haven't painted many digital paintings before though :P
Yeah, I have a scanner ... just not working >.< it's really annoying atm!
Aifolx:Thank you! :D actually I didn't think of it either, I just happened to look at a fine liner as I was frustrated of my picture not having a focus-point :P you really should try it, it's really interesting.
Lilnebo:Thank you for your comment :D np, I'd like to see more from you too! :D
ShiNIN: Thanks! haha, I like photographing you see :) yes, I'm working on it :P

nice, yummy studies... I'm very fond of pencil sketches created by skilled artists and my favourite subject is the human body... so I think and hope there will be food for me in this topic :)
(I need draw much more. I want to produce such drawings too one day... my level is horribly low at the moment)
I think the male body could use a more prominent knee... or two ;)

I really like your sketch work.
The male and female bodies have really helped me with MY sketches haha.
I've never made my bodies using those kind of sketch techniques, and now I'm glad I came across this. :)

wow first off thanks for the anatomy tip iv heard it a lot but i guess it just means i should practice more
your figures are wonderfull and ur portrits are so beautifully renderd you bring a lot to the table as far as drawing and sketching goes 2 thumbs up
as far as your digital paintings go ehh they could use some work but as far as that goes i think you could be a master if a little mor practice went that way not to be too harsh, if i could get a few tips on how to draw anatomy so beautifully then mabe i could gaiv a few tps for digital and dont judge the crappy ones on my profile those are really bad. keep up the amazing work
ill be back for more soon

I really like you Nike of Samothrace, I have tried multiple times to draw it but with out arms or a head to reference measure its seems kinda difficult for me.
[EDIT]
It just occured to me that I could just draw a head on it and then remove it later, haha.

Ty Oulton: Thanks! hehe nice discovery ;) My tip is try to think of the body as shapes and really work on the porportions before I shade :)
Ok, now some minor update! :D Here's one of my almost finnished Nike that I've been working on :)
And the second one is an old picture (one of my first) from spring 08' :)

Hey Xinga, very nice sketchbook. My favorites are the top two ones and the chinese brush work on the first page and the statues on the second page. Very nice
Here's some feedback which I think would help you improve. If you'd study anatomy and life drawing I think it would increase your skills a lot.
Hope that helps. Keep up the hard work!

Thanks for the visit and I really enjoyed looking at your process pieces in this SB, I have a suggestion of using a harder brush it would improve the quality of these pieces your painting, they look a little soft focus and blurry. Your sketches are amazing and I am officially jealous!! I also like the paintings inspired by China!! K

Woah, those are some amazing pencil and marker drawings. I love that shadow on the sculptures and dragons!
What you could work on with your digital stuff would be values, that seems to be your weakest point there currently. So it really helps to make a few greayscale paintings and desaturate color stuff every once in a while when you're working on it.
But hey, really keep it up with the pencils! I wanna see more of that!

I will say that you are strong in pencil rendering! you create good work when you put lots of time into it.
With the flowers, i would suggest using the lines as a guide, and eventually painting on a later on top of the linework. If you are trying to study or create something realistic, I think you will learn better that way. If you want linework as part of your style, you should put more time into making the lines stand out and make them more clean. Hopfuly that helps! so more digital studying (nothing too complex) to get more confident in painting. thats my advice :)
