Making strait lines in Photoshop?

How do you make a strait line in photoshop? I know using the brush tool while holding shift makes one but it fades out near the end of the line... Is there a way to make a simple strait line? Thanks!

Pencil tool holding shift; line tool; single row/column marquee tool; pencil tool clicking one spot, letting go, holding shift and clicking in another spot to connect the lines

That means you have opacity/flow settings on. Go to your brush window and clear the box next to Other Dynamics. Actually clear all boxes, you probably have Shape Dynamics on too. That should help :)
