I've taken the tour, got all the nice pamphlets... but really are they worth it? I've never seen posts on them (I think they are in the states too..) and wondered what people thought of them. I found them hugely expensive $14grand CDN a year, wondered if any grads frequent CA.

uh $14 a year and they dont really train you to do what you can in college really. its a rich kids fast and quick easy way out. basically you do all the work without the theory or steady background.
i dont know its expensive and ive checked it out. seems too artificial...

I'm not rich, though. $14,000 a year isn't bad at all. My friend goes to Tulane and it's $41,000 a year. I don't know, though. All I'm saying is they better teach me something or I'll be pissed! :mrt:

end- ya i seemed to have gotten that impression also when i went for a tour there, plus the artwork on the walls was way to small....didn't seem all that great for what you pay. But i haven't seen the new dig's at the CBC so who knows...

It probably depends on which campus you go to... My friend went to the one here and said it was great... There's a lot of factors I guess it depends on.

I just got back from IADT here in town.... It's really nice. Lots of art samples on the walls, friendly people, etc etc. Seems too good to be true, so it probably is. :p But I'm really excited, none-the-less!!

Hey guys this is my first post and i think this post at an IGDN forum will help u out heres a good quote this was ina thread regarding art schools such as Fullsail, Iadt, etc etc. also if anyones interested in going to full sail for computer animation maybe you should check this website out. www.Fullsailsucks.com although just remember any review you read about a school be very skeptical.
"It does not matter what school you go to, only what kind of student you are. A good student at a bad school will still succed despite his education."

I just found this forum, and lo and behold this is my first post. I couldn't resist hoping in.
I started at IADT in Tampa this past October, and thus far I'm truly enjoying myself. I'm a really self-motivated person, so I'm getting quite a bit out of my classes thus far (though I must restate the fact that I've only just started).
The most obscure advantage that no one seems to realize until they go, is that you will be having classes with people involved in the other degrees. You'd be surprised how much it can help just getting to interact with people whose artistic strengths vary so much from your own. I'm in the Animation program myself. However, I've made some friends in the Fashion Design department, and its been quite eye opening. It makes you think about things you never would have otherwise.
Er... I really love the school so far and could rant about it for quite some time. As this is my first post, I think I'll cut myself off here and spare everyone some bleeding ears.
