I especially like those creatures you did towards the end (that bat thing and swimming thing are awesome-- great edges), but the figures are good too. Are the gestures from life?
I think I overheard your color teacher mentioning you to my 2D teacher (yes, in good light hehe). You must've done some neat stuff there and should post it! :-)

dang alex all i can say is this is a first! but we must simply leave things as it is. i don't want this news getting back to the the Kurdish farmer/car mechanic my parents promised/sold me to. Blood tuition bills!

some how i found the guts to attempt it, but really it was just an exercise. I spent a day on it but honestly most of my time was spent walking away from it. I kept getting overwhelmed by the detail and i could keep hearing Mr. Wang from the back of my mind nagging me to fix things and follow his rules in drawing system.
I'm not entirely sure but i think the original was a mural. Anyway this was a copy of one of my favorite commercial artists; Edwin Howland Blashfield.
think i did ok for now at least.

Sprung; Yeah the first self portrait is supposed to be done in graphite pencil, the child in watercolor and med in gouache

Really enjoying your color choices. Your SPs get better and better but there's a bit of a tendency to put your eyes too close together in them and your other sketches.

Not sure you can keep 4-5 colors in a logo that way. Soft shading (the hat) doesn't really have place in there, IMHO. The arms feel flat. The black stripe on the belly distracts too much and the typography isn't very solid-feeling. The middle "E" just sits there, perhaps you should make it bigger and make the everything one font. Sorry if I come off as critical, YMMV of course! :)

i haven't really noticed the space between the eyes before. I'll try to be more careful the next time i do a self portrait.

As for the logo, i completely agree with you, but this was a class assignment where the focus wasn't to develop a functional logo, rather to show your understanding of illustrator. Yeah i had trouble with the text. I definitely appreciate your criticism. i do this to get better.
