*Sorry about that guys, my connection has been funky!

Hello all. I'm a nobody who graduated from art school (for animation) not too long ago and promptly got a job not related to art in the slightest! Nothing new I'm sure.

Basically I haven't been able to draw all too much since leaving college and don't want to stagnate. It sucks not having life drawing classes anymore, so I'm hoping people here could recommend some online sources I'd be able to work from? I observe people in public, but it's not the same as working with a nude model of course.

That said, here's a few things I've done within the past year or so (I'll post more in a comment):

Thanks Ash!
I went to SVA in Manhattan. You'll love animation school (see that you're going to San Fran, to the Art Institute? I almost went there). Just make sure you have plenty of energy drinks laying around ;)

Just a few more scribbles:

Almost forgot! Current WIP, and some other gigs. I'm quite sucktacular at coloring (digitally or traditionally) and would kill for some color theory suggestions. Unfortunately had no classes available on the subject which gave me a bad case of sadface 8(

very nice expressive characters.
I like the structural aspect of the unicorn.
I wont be going to AI, I left that school.
I will be going to the academy of art university.

Great style. I like your watercolor sketches.

I'm not all that great with color myself, but I find that studying other artists is really helpful.

Keep posting, please.

Impressive. I love your creature designs (always my favourite kind of concept art)!

Great style! I dig the first page of poses oh yeah and the water color animals are a real treat.

Woo, a little late on the uptake here! Thanks for all the comments, guys.
It's hard to believe it's been over a year, and unfortunately I have very little to show for it. But here's a few things anyway, sketches and some WIPs:

Not quite a year later- I'll try and pick and choose what represents the "best" from this past few months.
First, a couple recent observations:

A bit stiff, but mainly thoughts on clothing design/researching for these characters:

Similarly trying to figure out face-shapes:

Turkey studies and a clock design:

Taking what was a study and turning it into something else:

Completely ill-balanced, but I enjoy silhouetting anyway. I think this is where I finally grasped the importance of having some solid shapes to design characters with (hopefully I'll improve from here):

Man, you got some wicked imagery going on. Is there a story behind the unicorns? Sorry to hear that you are stuck in a job you don't like. That's the reason I went into business for myself. I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I couldn't create all day. Amazing stuff though and keep posting. :)

Your character and creature designs are top notch. I also liked the gestures in your figures in your first post.
