Heyup everyone~
I've always wanted to start a sketchbook-- and over the past couple of years, I've been lurking around these forums, just never posted anything until now.
I'll try my best to update daily! Critique is gladly accepted since I'm striving to improve!

Trying to concentrate harder. >_< I realised my last drawing was too flat, so I tried pushing the form a little more and added in more values. I think what I'll try next is a younger face, with more directional lines to make it more 3D. I want it to come out of the page more.
I think I got some of the proportionalities wrong, however I think I improved doing the same face over and over. I enjoyed doing the same face multiples times because I began to see the distances between features better.

Nice strokes man~ I like the feel of your work. It's very loose. As for coming out on the page more, I think that you might have just thought about it too much, and over dramatized some parts of his face without much regard to value. However ~ I'm not an expert, and I'm just saying what I see. Nevertheless it's a respectable portrait. In the newest sketch, I think you got too wrapped up in your goal again. He doesn't necessarily look that much younger than the first man...The directionality of the strokes of your pencil is cool, but some of the values are wrong. I suggest you slow down and polish it a bit more, just a bit. Anyway, I hoped this helped.
