Well as far as i can tell my Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 is the poor mans photoshop, but dose it have the ability to make decent concept art? I have a feeling it doesn't and i should stick to doing sketches at the moment, but i really want to get into digital painting, it just seams like the way to go...

Yes I use it sometimes to make a painting, it just doesn't have as many features but it's just fine for making a painting. It doesn't do TIF files though, so that can be a problem. :) Vista killed my CS2 when I upgraded and I was in the middle of client work that required a TIF boy was I in a bind D:

I made this in Elements:

oh wow, props to that.

Then i guess i just need to learn how to render, and get the basics down... i can sketch in real life pretty well. I dono, everything i do on photoshop makes me feel like i have no skill...

It's all the same to me, I mean, shoot, oil and pencil are actually easier to handle

but there's no undo button, hee hee

You should find a good atelier near you :)

elements 6.0, which is packaged with wacom tablets well mine ( new 6x11 ) can do TIFFS..I have a question though with elements, with cs3 you can cycle through screen modes with the F key..is there anyway to do that with elements? Or are you stuck with a motionless canvas??
