I think the background would work better if the "horizon would be at the line where the brain starts. I also think your lines are kinda messy, and there isnt really any lineweight, making ur pic look a bit static. Lastly i think the colors need more definition, they dont really contrast each other enough for them to make much of an impact on the shading at all ;)
