[ If a land-evolved creature wants to go exploring deep in the ocean, it must create a submersible that protects it from that extreme environment... ]
[ Likewise, if an ocean-evolved creature wishes to go exploring up on the crust of the planet, it must create a vehicle that keeps it protected from that dry, heavy, low-pressure world. ]

Hope I'm showing some improvement here... GIMP, Tablet, about 30 minutes, and minimal use of the erase tool. About 4 layers prior to .jpg compression. I'm still not as deliberate with my line work as I want to be with my tablet. Hopefully my smudgework is showing a bit of improvement!

I've been doing some of these the last few days, and I think I've finally gotten the nerve to make my first actual post here at CA. This is my little dimetrodon-guppy that invented a walking machine for surface exploration. I wanted to make the parts based on something sea creatures would encounter - amphibian feat and the bird talons for grabbers (though since he's an alien, I guess anything goes). And it has a camera (a fisheye lens har har).

Nice one, sugarfrostedhate. Reminds me of those old Johnny Quest suits from back in the 90's. :P Good stuff!

hydrolic - thanks, the second is way more dramatic and realistic, altough i also like it more, i will continue on the first, saving the 2nd for a complete painting.

Benkashmir: I think both deisgns are great. Particularly I like the concept of the second, but the first seems to refelct the subject more accurately. The vehichle design really rocks on the second! It's one those obvious, simple, but effective designs.

Roughly 40 minutes in Alias Sketchbook. I LOVE that program. Too bad I couldn't find a way to put in your file info.

the EEL re-engineered the crocodile so it may survive longer out of water, like a submarine that relies on air, the crocodile is cooled by liquid nitrogen canisters.
