Hey

After a little while of not having any artwork up here because of an NDA, I'm finally able to show you guys what i've been working on lately. the project is called "Umbra Pax" and it'll be the first total conversion for Halflife 2. You can view more about the project at www.stormforge.dk and you can see some concept art there as well. Be sure and check out the vehicles. They're done by Ed Schuss, a really talented technical artist. The two armor designs are mine.

Right now, I'm only sharing what's already been released on the site. Be sure to check there for updates. All of us are really excited about this project.

This is something I'm still new at. Mechanical consistancies is something I need a lot of work at. Unfortunately, I think the "encouragement" to exagurate the proportions didn't help.

I really dig the designs....however some of the shapes on the each of the bodies needed to be rounded a little more.....

these are nice, as are the vehicles on the site. but i get the sense from some of the descriptions in the 'features' section that the team is going for a bit more of a realistic approach to certain things. in your first powersuit design, the shoulder guard areas are going to massively restrict range of motion on the arms, particularly for holding the guns. you might also consider resolving the helmet/neck area to give a little bit more room, too. though realism might not be a particular concern, the animator's not going to be happy when the arms clip through the shoulderpads.
the second design looks to be more functional, but think about how far from the body those tubes are sticking out--as evidenced by the underslung blade in the sketch, i'm guessing this is also a combat design--which would probably get snagged in a battlefield environment. just a thought.
