If your looking for a public image then you have to offer much more than you are right now. Even if you are a small company the icon you display to the public either gives off a good or negative vibe and the responsibility of the artist is much greater than just doing a good image. So with grater responsibility comes a larger reward!!

I am not that knowledgeable regarding logo fees, not by a longshot, but I did find link that may help explain the previous post. It's not that anyone here is picking on the OP, or anyone here is greedy, but a logo can be a big deal, and there are a few things to keep in mind when you want to hire someone.

While I may agree that the over all value of a good logo is probably one of a company's best promotional purchases, and should be treated that way, it's not really our place to make judgements on their budget. Anyone interested should contact them directly (and they did say negotiations are possible).
A thread in the employment discussion area on the value of logos in general might be worthwhile.

Hmmm... we'll send them something Dweller... but how to negotiate up to 4-digit numbers when starting out with $150? ...suggestions anyone?
