[ So... ]

[ The idea here is that bees have evolved to live in water, instead of in the air... ]

[ They will look similar to regular bees in some ways, but different in other ways. ]

Whoa... yours is way better than mine, dude.

I realized when I was done with this that it wasn't really adapted to swimming at all. Oh, well. Next time!

Okay. Seabee is patterned after obviously bees and flying fish. I figured a marriage of the two would be rad. :)

Pencil sketch with Photoshop coloring. Approximately 40 minutes. :)

Not finished but I got burnt out so I stopped. Really like your's benkashmir and everyone else has some cool ideas.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/ifonlyiwasjew/DSG1365Seabeecopy.jpg

My idea was that underwater meant there was no need for wings. Bee's evolved claws which allowed them to carry sea flowers to their hives rather than making several trips.

stuck with the basic bee shape, but I suppose it could live in the sea...

Great job Naomi Ningishzidda, that is what I had in mind at one time..

I'm not that creative type, but here you are... swimming hairs :)
I've played with photoshop brushes on the environment, it was fun :)

Plasma Ernst: That's an amazingly creative design! It looks so alien! Lovely amount of tone, it's very insperational.

Hi!

This is my very first post in here and my 4th picture done with a computer. I concentrated purely on the bee itself and left the background practically untouched. I suck at doing backgrounds. :(

Done by a pencil and GIMP 2.

EDIT. Sorry for giving links instead of pictures! I don't understand why they aren't shown... I can't fix them now. I'm in a terrible rush! I will fix the pics later.

EDIT2. Fixed.

Brett_Schmidt I think your greatest problem here is the lack of flow, the appendages look like they are flailing all over the place.
It would also have been nice to see you use less detail in certain places, to pull something specific into focus, like the head, which has something interesting going on with it.
