Hello all you CA'ers!
This is my first thread in this area. I always lurk about the forums looking at all the amazing work here. It never ceases to impress me. There's seriously never a dull Concept Art forum lurking moment... Every time I look around here Im simply amazed. I have been stuck in bed with a broken leg and I felt it was time to brush up my drawing, and getting myself to see better. I found these bargue drawing posts and was instantly inspired. And Im glad that I found them because I feel they helped me out alot.
The process I used is similar to the bargue drawing method, except I didn't draw from life, which I will be doing more in the future. I just applied the principles of it in my process. I have no one around at the moment so I just worked off photographs that I took. I started the drawing process by mapping out the whole face in line, carefully measuring every part the best I could until I had a complete line only face...
After that I carefully shaded everything in starting by toning the dark areas in a flat one shade middle tone, after that I darkend each area accordingly, trying to pay attention to my edges and backlighting... I could have spent a bunch more time on each one, and I should have used a better pencil, because the ones I am using are crap.
This is what I came up with...

And heres the last one of me after a hair cut...
Each one took between two and five hours... It was alot of fun... Im going to start another in a bit...
I need to get some better pencils for sure so it doesn't look so rough. :(
Any other crits are welcome. I need to brush up for going to Florence.
