It has been a while since I have worked with this technique am a bit rusty. Maybe one you can help me out. How can I scan in a textile and convert it into a seamless texture brush so that way I can paint the pattern or textile along my image.

In my example I have this tiny swatch of wallpaper that I want to use in a illustration, how can I turn it into a sort of clone texture brush so i can just endlessly paint it along the wall of my scene.

Hugs to the first person who gets to this!

Making a repeating texture is pretty easy. Use Filter > Other > Offset, and then clone stamp/paint out the seams. Use the Offset filter as many times as you need to. When the seams are gone, just select all (flatten if you need to), and Edit > Define Pattern.

You can use that pattern for brushes, or use the Pattern Stamp Tool (shift-S) if you want to use the patterns original colors.

Be sure to save your pattern too if you want to use it later or archive it (Edit > Preset Manager).
