try HERE (http://209.126.148.88/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=42) it's got some good stuff that davi and jason and andrew and others were talking about. color theory, perspective and such. fredflickstone wrote a good one and there is an awesome one by prometheus there too. also check out THIS (http://www.sumaleth.com/links/) site, pretty cool stuff there as well. by the way, i like this pic, reminds me of foster and that's a good thing. better than my first attempts at painting (which i have given up until i can understand light and values better)
nice job! can't wait to see this finished

thanks i really appreciate the help, by any chance do you have any tutorials that give specific information sucha s brush settings and opacity and how to blend like bengal does and stuff. i think another big problem i have is the transition between colors. again, anything will help.

It's a challenging road.. especially for me, I'd always done linework my whole life.. so paint is very different..

it helped me to make a scratch page.. I could just load into painter and fill it with all the brushes and layer options.. keep commin' back to it whenever I wanted to practice stuff... you'll start to see why and how different brushes have different effects..

but the best advice I can give is that there is no such thing as a black shadow or a white highlight in paint.. use colors that cummunicate light and dark to bring out your forms..

AIM me if your up for some OpenCanvas and we can practice.

good luck :)
