This is a drapery study I did in pencil and white chalk on Canson paper. I used the sight size method to do the actual drawing. This study is going to be the beginning of a real composition as I go through the steps. This is phase one of a several phase project. By doing the drapery seperate from the model, you can really concentrate on each element individually before creating the whole.

My blog entry concerning this is here. (http://shehaub.haubworld.org/blog/index.php?itemid=20) Its a huge download, so modem users beware, but I have included some information on how I am learning to handle drapery.

My pictures are not the best, but hopefully you can get enough information from them to be helpful to the beginner. I am still just a newb myself. My blog is really spastic, so please forgive me if you are brave enough to read the other entries.

The drapery study looks great to me. Thanks for the blog entry on how you progressed, it gave me some general pointers on how to do better studies.
