So, guys, what do you do to avoid it? How do you motivate yourself?
More then often I find myself frustrated lately with the lack of progress and skill on my side and while I still love drawing I rather "draw stuff" instead of improving in anatomy and pencil and digital painting and other things I know I'm not good at.

Riding around on Jason Manleys manly shoulders in 10 years time instead of ending up flipping burgers is extremly motivating, wouldn't you say?
Sometimes the prospect of failure is more motivating than the prospect of success :)
No seriously. just draw.

Look at some drawings you did a year ago and compare with what you have now. That enough inspiration for you?

Yeah, the post above is good advice because it really helps me!
Sometimes you can't really see the improvement while drawing, but refer back to old stuff and you'll see the difference. =)
I know I'm one to talk (because I only did one study) but have you done any of the Loomis anatomy studies? I need to continue them but they were on hault because I had to pop out some pieces for my AP Art portfolio, which is all finished now thank God.
So I can return to studies. :D

lack of motivation = too much comfort.
