help me pimp a ride

ok..i got an assignment at ma current workplace to do mod our little truck. its a mitsubishi canter and it has a rexine cover at the back. im wondering how to paint the rexine cover.
i thought of using acrylics but im worried wether it will get destroyed for the sun and rain.
so any advice on how to get abt doing this.

I might not know much about painting cars, but when i shows where they airbrush the car, they ALWAYS finish with a layer of clear cloat.

CLEAR COAT
A coating that protects the printing and surface of a pressure sensitive label from abrasion, sunlight, chemicals, moisture, or any combination of these. Varnish and lacquer are examples of clear coats.
