Hello I need some help regarding brushes draw on Painter X.
To make a long short short, I got a new computer - which automatically comes with Vista, and open canvas doesn't work with Vista. So I've changed to using Corel Painter X (don't really like Adobe PS all that much.).
Anyways I've always felt very comfortable with the pencil tool that open canvas provides. However with this corel painter I'm having a hard time doing any sort of drawing..
So my question for you is, what brush -and what settings- do you use when sketching / doing fine line art with painter?
And also what brush / settings do you use to colour too?
Thank you for your time!
PS: I've thought about downgrading to xp, however I'm not very good with computers so I rather not mess with this kind of thing

Did you get a good price when you bought Painter? Just curious...

A fantastic pencil for sketching that I use over any other is one of Robert Changs custom variants, which u can find here.

Also, having the extra sensitivity of an intuos over the graphire goes a a long way in painter

you can also change both opacity and size to pressure and select a neutral brown and it's very similar to drawing much as you would a brush before a painting.
Any dry media work for drawing in painter, really. If you're finding that it's too dark with little pressure lower your opacity or mess with your brush tracking options.
Hope this helps somewhat :).

Kushi, go to brush tracking and setup your natural hand pressure. after that you can use any brush you like for drawing, it will respond to your strokes as you expect. btw in pencils category there're lot of good drawing brushes (pencils, heh).

Well actually I got the software from a friend who had recently bought it, sooo I have no idea about the price.

This seems to be a dead link. Do you have another for Robert's varients?
Thanks.
