Hey, here's something I made to try out a different way of coloring things. I'm pretty satisfied with it, but what do you guys think?

Anyway, thanks for taking a look :)

well, it shifts in and out of being photo-realistic, but the linear stuff really breaks the illusion. if it's digital (i can't tell - i guess that's an achievement?) then maybe you can paint out those lines.

that pink airbrush splash is a nice touch too. vibrato!

Yeah, I have trouble making things look good when I get rid of my lines. I should work on that. Thanks for the comment though.

this piece is pretty funny, at first glance I thought it's a green turd(and I went like WTF???) then I thought its a deformed dill pickel and then I saw what it really is... a turd shaped, dillpickel coloured monster!
I kind of like it.

If I had to guess, I'd say you probably used "emboss" in photoshop, on the paint layer, desaturated it, set it to a style like "screen" or "overlay," did some selective erasing, maybe some extra color dodge on the brightest highlights and added the shadows in either the original color layer or painted on a seperate one... Am I close? Way off? Should I go crawl under a rock? I'd like to know, either way, 'cause whatever technique you used, it looks like it has potential. I like. Do more like this.
