Im selected -Special task

Hey there, I have gotten a letter from Dutch Film acedemy telling me im trough to the last round. Which is great news ofcourse, but they gave me a very weird task that I should do before...

Maybe some here understand it more than I do, I could really use your help cause it pretty soon already! :(

here the task is:

Make a storybased concept about waiting people in a space. Show in an original way, the interaction between the person and his/her environment. Show this by your own chosen interactive form.

This study is called Interactive media/visual effects, its about 3d animation mostly but also 2d concept design.

One of my biggest question about the task is what they mean by: ''show this by your own chosen interactive form.'' I dont really get what kind of forms they talking about when it needs to be interactive...

It means your own form of interaction with the environment. Like is the person playing with an alien to pass the time? Standing on a platform waiting for a spacebus? Pretty much, make the person IN his background, don't just make a person standing there and put some stars and a space ship behind it.

If your unclear as to the specifics, you should really ask the Dutch Film Academy. Whatever brownie points you may lose by asking them to rephrase is peanuts compared to working hard on something that wasn't what they wanted.

What I said still stands, it still means to capture them as a part of this "space". Not just a character on top of a useless background. Something that shows that they are supposed to be there, and they have a reason for waiting there.

I think it means lets say, you have a guy crouching on the ground in the park. Now instead of him just sitting there have him picking up a flower and whistling with birds flying just above his head. Make him change the environment by being there.
