well, i like it.
i think you did a great job. its kind of hard to read the wires.. i would beef their thickness up a bit, but other than that its a pretty solid piece IMO.
although... you do loose "cool points" for having a DA account...

thats not a critique.
its the FF section mate, you see more asspats than critiques here, simply because the pieces are generally beyond the stage of needing in depth critique.
as for the image itself, i really dig it (well, i have to admit i have a soft spot for anything steampunk). i agree with the observation made that the wires connecting the balloon are a little lost against the bg, but other than that you've done well to ground the piece in space, and the textures are lovely :)

another critique: steampunk rocks... and you have captured an awesome atmosphere. You going to make prints?

meh
it just kinda irked me because it wasn't even a decent asspat either.
"nice, keep posting" seems kinda rude to me.

I think this is pretty gorgeous, I agree that the atmosphere works well. I really like how well you captured the lighting, very subtle and convincing.

It's beautiful enough, but I don't read it as a pirate ship. It seems too...elegant. It seems a pirate ship would rapidly become rather dinged up.
Unless, of course, there's some story reason for the above I don't know about.
