This is an older piece. I'm cleaning up my portfolio. This one is a bit sketchy. Art directors keep telling me my stuff is too loose. C&C should I drop it or polish it up?

i think you should finish this one. i like the concept, it desirves to be better defined.
i think the canvas could be enlarged.
add some more of that falling debris/rocketship thing.
define the background, add more detail and depth back there.
this is a sweet piece btw.

Well, my 2 cents are don't go back to it - REdo it...do it again from scratch...you learn more that way. Never go back - only forward...I sound like Yoda - but whatever, that's what works for me...

Thanks Marc, great idea. The paint has dried. I liked the idea, but I could take the same concept and do it better now.

I like this image, too, and I agree with marc, do it again from the beginning and re-examine your sketches, see if there's any tweaking to be done to composition/shapes/etc--don't cut the figures' feet off.
as far as looseness goes, keep the shapes loose but tighten up the edges, the girl looks like she has smoke around her.

I like the looseness. It depends on how you're going to use it though... A loose image allows the view to insert certain details themselves allowing them to connect with it more.
I find work that's too tight loses energy.

I like a lot about this. I like the idea, the characters, the color and especially the texture. I think the composition could be a little tighter and it may have been better to paint "bigger". You can see especially with the female figure's face that more detail would have been helpful.
I like it.
