This is a commissioned piece for the owner of the restored truck. reconstructing the town it served in and striping and lettering it would have had. done from reference. 18x24 in oil on canvas. The guy is really nice, his son takes the truck around to car shows and parades. His last name is wheeler(yes, really) so i tied that in on the gas station. he has at least a dozen custom paintings at his home(his former artists have now died, he is an older gentalman himself) and he has countless models, mostly of studebakers and fire trucks. i might be doing a second painting for him, we'll see. he's given final approval on this one having seen it only by email so far, so... i'm ready to varnish.
