Hi! My name is Chien. I'm eighteen years old and a freshman in college.
Last time I updated this place, I was talking about submitting my AP Drawing/Painting portfolio. I got a five, which was neat. :)
Current Goals (Upd: 12/7)
Clean up!
- I waste too much.
Loosen up!
- Figures are too stiff...
Straighten up!
- Figures are too BENDY...
Think
- Make it a habit to utilize light and atmosphere instead of just aimlessly sketching
Foundation
- Anatomy, perspective, all the important stuff
Acrylics
- An ongoing battle-- I must win this.
CG More
- I... barely CG. That does not bode well.
Understand Color
- Serious weakness that really hurts me. Oof.
Start Over
- Nothing of value will be lost, it seems. I'm hurting myself by drawing the way I do, I think.

Nice and different.
The drawing ability is definately there!
Good Luck with that 'thing' you were talking about '(Sorry I cannot comprehend anything larger than mousepad, which is made for gaming though, so its big, kind of)'
:D

I love your second one... very nice!
And you draw very good human. Good start!
Thanks for showing!

I don't think that there is anything wrong with what you're doing, It's actually a pretty nice technique. That's what you have to do, experiment to find what you like. There is no rule stating that acrylics HAVE to be opaque. You understand the basic skills of drawing far better that I. I suppose I have nothing very constructive to say, but hopefully I'm keeping you motivated.
Also nice studies, keep up the good work!

Yeah, I didn't see the human figure the way you do back when I was a senior in high school... I don't know of many who ever did, so I'd say you are off to a great start. These are some really nice drawings, and I really enjoy the watercolor effect you have going on. I'd echo what Homeless Foxman said, just keep experimenting, keep drawing, stay motivated! And of course show us some more!

Lakka - Thanks for thinking that it's different! That's great to hear. I'm not sure what the "thing" is either, but I appreciate it. :)
Mepp - No problem, I hope to show more. First I need to draw more, too. Oy! Thank you.
Homeless Foxman - I'm glad you think so. Your comment definitely helps me stay motivated. I guess I felt like I should've been painting it opaque since that's what my classmates are doing-- and I like how it looks. I'll keep working on it, though. Hopefully I'll find my painting style soon.
safesheep - No way? That's... awesome to hear, actually. Wow. Thanks for that!
Here are a few little digital things.

Hi, Nice drawings, and I like your color choices. In the acrylics, it would be nice to see some parts where you lay thicker paints, and keep the thin colors in the background, kind of.

benguine - I'm definitely working on getting more confident with acrylics. The reason why I water them down so much is that I rely very heavily on my pencil sketches. I'm going to try your idea, still. Thanks!
Been busy with AP testing this month, senior prom, and other cool end-of-the-year-graduating-high-school stuff. Some more sketches and one commission. :)
I added some goals to the first post for me to think about.
