Alright, as the title says this is my second go at it. Only one piece to show here though, my copy of Photoshop stopped working for a while so I couldn't finish up a few others I want to throw at you guys.

Anyway, I entered this piece into an art exhibit down here in ole Denton, Texas. It was half well received and half misunderstood by the patrons. You know, art show goers don't seem to be acquainted with our new style of "digital" art. They either think you stole from other pieces or somehow the program helped me draw it, which I am very happy that all of you here know that's not the case. Guess I'm saying it feels good to have a place like Concept art with other artists who know where you're coming from.

In any case, here she goes. It's called "As We Aged A Million Eons"

Can't wait for your critiques!

(oh and just for clarity, it's supposed to be a picture of a nebula in space with a girl and a guy made of the nebula)

I have two digital pieces hanging in a gallery here in CT and its actually pretty fun to tell "art" people how the pieces were made. They are mostly pretty fascinated with the process. Most of them couldn't attach an image to an email if their lives depended on it : )

I really like the concept and the overall result. IMO it is a little too saturated throughout leaving a lack of focal point. Also it looks a lot like you used the liquify brush everywhere. Great work, keep it up.

Thanks for the complement. Hah, and that would be the smudge brush, Se7en! Yeah I definitely agree with your experience. There's a huge difference between making art and being a fan of it.

And baby stars eh, well....that gives me an idea for another piece!

And good spot about the saturation and focal point suggestion. For one do yall ever find it irritating that you draw a digital piece and then when you view it on another computer the colors are somewhat off? (for example on the computer I drew this piece on the clouds around the girl are more blue and there's more transition, while on the computer I am looking at it on now, the colors are more vibrant but somehow more chunky. I dunno, I guess my monitor's got too much contrast!)

And two, about the focus, I didn't know how to accomplish this. By one aspect I wanted the viewer to be able to see a defined guy and girl in the pic but on the other hand I wanted the viewer to also only see a crazy nebula. Sooo if you weren't aware of the girl then all you'd see is clouds which is what the focal point is focused on. I did alot of studying nebulas for this pic and in all those NASA photos it seems like there is no focal point in nebulas. They're just forces of nature with no beginning or end, no middle, inside or outsides. Guess I was attempting to capture that randomness as well.
