My name is Adele K Thomas and I am currently a flash animator and artist at a studio in Brisbane, Australia. My first love is illustration and painting in photoshop. My style is more toony but I really like challenging myself to go more realistic...but it is that, a challenge.
Id love to see myself at a studio, whether it be gaming, film, tv...just working with other artists drawing all day.
My website is www.adelekthomas.com (http://www.adelekthomas.com)
Im looking forward to some of these weekly challenges!
This is an old painting, but i just needed to test this uploading thing out.

Heya, I came back to see if you had reworked that PolarBear/Sawfish... but no dice. Nice life studies. Your palette and style reminds me of Scott Morse (http://scottmorse.blogspot.com/). Keep it up.

Thanks guys for your kind comments...my style is more of an animation one than a gaming one I think...I studied traditional animation and my big love is animated films and cartoon series more than games...so that always comes through in the end.
Here are my last two entries for Deep Cow #117, I couldnt get the 5th done as I just started a new job.

Here is my recent Chow #126
"As you can see, Scheherazade in my concept tells stories through seduction by her long hair, using magical dust that she carries in her hip flask. Her eyes are hypnotic, drawing you in to watch the tale up above.
I delivered this in my animation TV toon style, its what comes most natural and also very fun to do...I love drawing wild hair, so it was even more fun to colour it. I could of easily done a full figured sexy seductive (robotic???) woman ;D, but I really wanted to go more fantasy based for Scheherazade.
My colour influences came from Lou Romano, Bill Perkins and Scott Willis...all TV animation artists
I didn't add in the original background because I wanted to focus on the character and if you were watching the story, you wouldn't notice what was around you anyway...being seduced. I also made her eyes clear over, as Im sure she would have beautiful eyes...but not the focus whilst her hair is the focus."

I like your last Chow entry, overall i really like your style and colors and everything. Though i feel like theres something bugging me about her upper arms where they socket into the shoulder. It's like, too cylindrical and not enough like a real arm or something. I'm not sure. Either way it's a great piece, i just wanted to stop in and check things out. cheers'

i guess you have to remember that im more a toony style concept artist...not a cg/realistic games concept artist...looking at it after I finished, I do think the shoulder on our right needed to be over more to the...right :D
cheers :D

Great sketchnook Adele! You animate in Flash eh? We were starting to do that at Cosgrove Hall, but then I up and left to sell my soul to computer games. I know a few guys who moved out to Oz though. Animation seems good with you peeps.

well there isnt much out here for Flash animation as in series stuff...id be better off moving back to the UK and getting work there :D thank god for the old UK passport. If there is any flash animation its in Melbourne, which I have and may again soon get to do again.
Anyway, its mostly gaming stuff here in Brisbane...I tried to get into it but my stuff is too toony and always get told I should work in animation...IF ONLY there were jobs here. So for now I just work as an illustrator.
Alot of people sell their souls to gaming studios...mine wasnt dirty enough to take, too shiny!

I have been reading the Twilight series and did this recently...just thought Id share. If you are aware of the story, you will recognise this as Bella being carried by Edward for the first time through the Forks' forest.

I'm watching you.... LOL! I'm a toon freak, so its nice to see someone else here who also draws on the comic side. ;)
I'm so jealous of your scenery/background images... I really stink at drawing environments. You have great stuff here, I'm off to peruse your other sites. :D
