What do you think is the best way to learn character design. Like really awesome drawings for Computer Animaiton. Maybe designs like creaturebox.com.
Any Ideas.

Study great designs. The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Toy Story, etc.. Redraw the characters, discover what is important and what helps convey certain aspects of character.

The characters on there are a lot of animals and creatures, so i would draw a ton of different animals and creatures found on google, and that you particularly like. The more you draw them they will be put into your head and you will be able to make up something from the "database" in your head of what you already know. If there is a specific style you like, draw that style, and the more you look at that style and copy it, you will develop your own style similar to it.

One of the most important aspects of character design for me is having a sense or personality and life behind the eyes and physical make up. I will first say do the obvious which is do lots of life drawing, anatomy studies from human and non human, as well as practice portraiture. While your doing this re watch some of your favorite movies and notice all the cliche character types like the hero the villian the prince the princes the wisdom character and so forth..Observe how the artist and directors portray and really accentuate these character types and their personalities.
