(For a web design apprenticeship project)

Does anyone else remember the website Wastedyouth.org? They used to have some very nice Photoshop tutorials, however, the site's down. Well, not QUITE down. Just check out the URL to see what I mean.

wastedyouth.org

Did you check? Since I don't feel like manually looking through 200+ tutorials, could someone help me out?

I need a tutorial for a blinking metalic eye-type thing. Um... more specific? I want a round button that looks similar to a porthole with "metal eyelids." I also want to animate it so that when you move your mouse over it, the "eyelid" comes up and you see an eye/other effect below it. Some metal tutorials would also be great.

Thanks a ton to anyone who replies!

That's pretty easy to do using Flash. Alls you gotta do is create a button and a movie clip. The movie clip will be of the doors closing. Use a mask layer above the button (or outline of your "porthole") and stick the movie clip under it. Set the actions panel to: "on mouse event gotoplay 1"

Or, you could make it using Java Script in HTM. It's easy enuff to find the right mouse over script online... just plug in your images. Make the part that moves an animated gif.

Umm, for making it look like metal, make your "pieces" (upper lid, lower lid) with Photoshop, I dont really know photoshop that well so I can't tell you how to make it look like metal, but im sure someone else can tell you how!
