I don't come to this forum often, but the last time I did it looked like a few folks on the Painter development team were lurking about. As I was unable to find a quick feedback link on Corel's website, I thought I might as well post this request here in the hopes that someone who works on Painter might see this. So, without further adieu...

Please port Painter for Ubuntu! I will buy it (a lot)!

I'd love to move my main art making system from Windows to Ubuntu, but the lack of a good natural media painting program is holding me back.

Call up canonical and talk it over with them! I'm sure they'd love to see a port and would help you with marketing to Ubuntu's ever growing user-base.

Cheers!

I second the idea of Painter on Ubuntu and would be willing pay for it. I use Ubuntu full time and only return to Windows to put the final touches on projects. If Corel would port the software I could put my intrusive windows partition to rest. I've got my fingers crossed that Ubuntu gains more attention and software like Painter eventually hits the platform.

Do they have any other graphics programs ported to Ubuntu already? (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)

You can add your request for this enhancment to the Painter Wish List thread at The PainterFactory where the Corel Painter development team will read it.

The PainterFactory (http://painterfactory.com)

You'll find the Painter Wish List thread using the following steps:

I have a version of Ubuntu and sometimes get lucky with wine or a windows sim but really you'd probably be better of just installing a mainstream OS like windows or mac.
