yes people are getting tired of waiting a month before figuring out where it is, this needs to be better organized!
maybe it just wont work out if people are too irresponsible on sending it and keep sending!

The book didnt get stolen, its still alive and well, and as far as I know is on its way to infintipo or whatever his name is. Deadlines at dreamworks held the book up a bit longer then expected, but he got some stuff done in it for you all to see, and it should be moving soon.(If it hasnt moved already) Certain people are very busy, and you cant always expect the book to move along in a perfect timely manner. Sorry if people are freaking out about this, but if you want quality artwork in the book, its going to take some time to move around.

That's great to hear, mtomczek!
...But, I think we all understand that some stops will be longer than others...
What really confused and concerned everyone was the continuing lack of information on the whereabouts of the book. I think it'd be a nice courtesy for whomever sends the book out to mention as much, and whomever recieves it to do the same.
The person who recieves the book might even make mention of the fact that they're swamped and will be taking awhile...
A project like this easily warrants that the artist post mention of arrival and departure dates, and I hope it becomes the norm.
Glad to hear it hasn't been ripped off or lost.

is the list still open for applicants? I just found out about this project today. Hopefully there's a spot left...I'm here in Northern Virginia....I'm gonna go ahead and send my info to satire then if that's okay?

whew, im glad that the book is moving. yes, i also think it would be good to say when you get it/if its taking you an excessive amount of time(say, more than 2 weeks)/when you send it.
for the people who want to start a second one in europe, PM me if you are serious and ill send you the list of people in europe...
as for the people in australia, i think ill slot you in after the callifornia people.
oh, and if there IS a book started in europe, it means 5-8 slots are now open in the book. yay! and what the hell ever happened to the website?

hahaha. i was in surfers paradise for schoolies week (similar to spring break) and yeh its tacky, but your right, its an absolute party town. I never would have got as smashed as i did if schoolies was in sydney.
Some things i recommend you check out:
Caville Ave: The main, most popular street. Entertainment includes The "OFF yA HEAD bong shop", "Condom Kingdom" (any of the 5 or so there) and Ripleys "Believe it or not!"
Infinity: the trippiest experience short of...well, a trip. If you ARE on a trip during your trip, trip out your trip and take a trip to Infinity! (turn right near the end of caville mall and theres another mall about 100m down, its in there.)
Nightclubs: There are quite a few, but i suggest The Bourbon Bar or for the more discerning gentleman, the Crazy Horse ;)
well, i hope you have fun and enjoy the great.....view.....at the...beach......:D
And if you can manage to come down to sydanee itd b great to have a drink. As a matter of fact, work may be taking me up surfers way soon enough, so our timings may coincide.

@ Skank: The train is about $110 - $120 (australian dollars - One way). You could fly for $170 (return). If you really need to you could crash at my place.

You guys might consider PM-ing or E.mailing each other...
This isn't the forum for such an ongoing discussion, and it's annoying to keep getting e.mail alerts that don't have anything to do with the thread.

sorry if i'm repeating someone's idea...but how bout we make it so the person who fills the last page buys another book, then the finished book can be sent to satire or someone for safekeeping.....hell, we could even try to make this a world record of the most artists contributing to a "pass-along" sketchbook...
awesome idea satire...too good...
o, and can i b on the list ;) :D :chug:

if your planin to use something that might go through, you can use it on another piece of paper and then paste it in, or put a piece of cardboard behind it so it wont get on the paper behind it.

well, i havnt heard form anyone in a long, long time. the last person i knew had it was mtom, and it was supposed to go to infinitipo. i need a ruling..should i send out a second book?
jester
March 4th, 2004, 03:10 PM
Satire, I really suggest that you send out a second book. Also, make public to whom you sent it and when that person is meant to pass it on to whom... hmmm. do I make myself clear?
What I mean is: All people participating should know where the book is at a given time, who has to send it on to whom and when.
Thus, if it gets lost, we know who to kill ;)

Mtomczek Said:The book didnt get stolen, its still alive and well, and as far as I know is on its way to infintipo or whatever his name is. Deadlines at dreamworks held the book up a bit longer then expected, but he got some stuff done in it for you all to see, and it should be moving soon.
That was a month ago. That was at the end of January that he said that. It was probably a month or two prior that he said he'd picked it up from el coro. We've seen the scans up to that point.... including mtom's ... So... I don't get it.
Now it's March, and we haven't heard/seen anything from infinitipo or mtomczek. Who had the book last? As best I can tell mtom kept apologizing for not sending it, and infinitipo reported it hadn't arrived.
Did infinitipo give the wrong address? Did mtom leave it on a bus?
Mtomczek, you seem to be the last person to have the book so maybe you can tell us the last time you saw the book?
SATIRE, I encourage you to send out a second book. Maybe we can each include a dollar bill with our entry so that by the time it comes back to you you'll have your money back?
And, as Jester and others have said before: We should have a full list of who's got it and where it's headed. Occassionally it'll probably get held up for short periods -- that's fine -- but we should have a clear understanding of the who and the why.
