does anyone use gimp and a wacom?

I can't get it to draw a smooth line all I get is widely spread brush shapes even with the rate turned way up

When reading up on graphic's programs, the main con regarding the use of GIMP, was that it has driver issues with tablets. :( Every person I've spoken to that has a tablet and that has tried GIMP gave up. :/

A decent alternative to GIMP would be openCanvas though, not all the same bells and whistles, but version 1.0 is freeware and just kicks ass.
