I STRONGLY suggest getting "GHOST MASTER".
It's basicly set up in a 'THE SIMS' world, but instead of doing all the normal tasks all the time YOU are the ghost master. You control a series of ghosts with different powers.

it has some mixed reviews, but if you enjoyed THE SIMS to some degree, you should totally check this out.

There was a game for the original Sega that was like this. The game was fun as hell and your goal was to scare every person in the house enough to where they would flee the house. As soon as everyone was scared out of the house you advanced. It was a great game, I wonder if this one is the same as the one on the Sega.

I might download the demo later to test it out, but I don't want to keep checking on a dl that long for now. I'm not a premium member so dls are purposely made 10x longer. Meh looks worth a try.

Nice to see something not mainstream. I remember seeing a review about a similar game for the Amiga or PC 10 years ago or so. Probably a version of the game Blackhawk mentioned.
I'm busy with SimAnt though... well making fanart that is :G

haha fan art for simant? awesome

anyways another great game out there is savage.

there is a demo on fileplanet which puzzles me because it has everything to play a full race, so if you really don't want to buy the game the demo has a fantastic replay value, the full game(which i own now) has 2 races and just more maps..

awww man.. simAnt owned my life back in the day... even tho I was so damn bad at it.....

I just picked up Viewtiful Joe (been waitin' a year for that sucka) ... It's preatty freakin' amazing and brings me back to the good ole' days of dying 143 times and throwing the controller... It's been a while since I played a challenge, and it don't hurt that it's got so much style neither. :D

Last I played Zelda: Link to the Past .. for the second time.. first time I played was last x-mass (yea I missed out as a kid).. that game is so well done, I had like 3 brand new games but I kept commin' back to LTTP...

When I and my brothers were a younger, we would play this old Sega Genesis game called "General Chaos." That game was a blast; it had co-op multiplayer and it was hilarious. I don't know anyone else who even heard of it. An older great game that nobody knows.
Also, like you Sammy, I have been expectantly awaiting Viewtiful Joe, and now I just need to buy it for myself. I am glad to hear good things about it, because I have had high hopes. And Davi is right about Savage as well; I only have the demo of it, but the demo has made me want to purchase it.

LOL General Chaos!! HAHA ROCK!!!!

Calibretto, go get Viewtifull.. if you're an old 2d salt like I am you'll shit yourself.

Anyways.. I think the best game that nobody really knows about is Herzog Zwei for Ye Olde Genesis... the very first realtime strategy ever.

That Genesis game was called Haunting: Starring Polterguy . I think Electronic Arts made it.

There's a relatively unknown game for Playstation called N20: Nitrous Oxide that's pretty fun. It's a two person shooter that involves mowing down various insects. Here's some shots:

Wow, Herzog Zwei seems like a really cool game. Strange that I missed it, I never had a Sega though, doh! I thought Dune2, Utopia or Megalomania was first. Would be cool to see Herzog Drei... Utopia 3 or mlm2.

SimAnt wasn't very hard this time I played it, in fact, I won the campaign first time I tried. The game sorta plays itself if you auto some of the settings, which is neat I think. I just concentrated on winning a few patches by making commando raids to kill the enemy queen or plug their anthills with stones. Perhaps building a circle around them with stones is even better, I gotta try that.

Prom - Luckily you can get Herzog for like $25 on Ebay.. it used to get up to $180.
My friend got a copy for $5 a couple months back at a Flea Market and he gave it to me. :D
It's worth checking out - http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Corridor/6511/herzog.html - it's played completely on a split screan where you see the comp's (or player 2's) actions, your ship flies arround and manages troops and can transform to a mech to defend outposts.

HAHA, yea I poped SimAnt back in and I'm suprised how easy it is! I guess I've brushed up on my skills.

Yeah, I've already checked it out *cough*
Steep learning curve, and a bit hard to keep track of where your units are with no radar for them.
I'd like to see a pixel RTS again, something like Z, Herzog Drei, Dark Reign or DuneII. Would be awesome for GBA or some mini console.

Another great unknown game is Exile for the BBC micro/C64/Amiga but I've already ranted about that game in another thread.

There's a cool RTS for the GBA called Mech Platoon, and it's done pretty well.
