Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could help me with this process of putting together a portfolio and artist statement to send to a potential employer.
I am currently in my second year of college and we have not yet gone over this!! I am applying for summer internships so I would really appreciate the help, although I'm sure everyone does things differently.
I have a website up, would it be proper to email the website, or images with explanations?
Thanks in advance!

What kind of internships? I don't know of any commercial art or video game studios that require statements. I only saw them required for fine artsy stuff like exhibits or grants.

it's not a requirement really... it's just a few local GD companies and I wanted to put together something professional.

It doesn't really matter what I'm applying for though, I would still like to have it just in case.

just google artist statement and you'll get loads of informative links.
one of the more useful, no-nonsense ones i think is this one (http://www.mollygordon.com/resources/marketingresources/artstatemt/index.html#writing).
have fun.

I hear it's all the rage, and proper, to send over your webpage on email or a business card. About that, though, I would say you need to size down your images some. They're HUGE. If my browser didn't auto-resize, I'd probably have skittered away rather quickly. Also, the mermaid on the front is the first thing someone sees, and it needs to be brought up to the level of quality and detail of your actual portfolio pieces. IMHO, your other mermaid looks much better. First impressions, and all that. Meh.
