here are some of the 10 illustrations i did for a children's book. they're pretty rough since the author had the funny idea of asking for pictures 2 weeks before the pitch, but i kinda like how they turned out...esp. the colors.

How did you get into doing art for Childrens books?
I've been thinking about doing something along those lines before...just wondered.

oblio! always first to welcome me back. :)

lowpolymatt: that's an easy one...i have a writer friend. she got me to illustrate her book. children's books is a fun field, you write and draw what you want, and choose your topics...it's a nice diversion from drawing big tough characters all the time. finding a publisher is a different matter tho.

Beautiful colors. If I had to pick favorites, I'd go with the codfish, flying fish and the sunfish. But all are very pleasing to the eye. I'd like to see more detail in the backgrounds. And more of your artwork. MORE, I say.
