Lovely mood. I like the first and last ones especially.

my favorite is by far the first one, great balance and excellent lighting, most importantly you captured the cold, otherworldly mood very well.

The middle two have great detail work but the anatomy seems overly stiff. Especially darkening the third one's background will help, i think it will bring out the flames and figure.
The last one has great details and great motion, I think you need to up your value contrast though. I would suggest making the background behind the monster/house/etc glow brightly.

good work! :)

Hi,

Thanks very much to everyone for their comments.

teazr; Thanks. Those are my favourites too.

Alizel; Glad you feel I pulled the mood off in Fire-lit thicket. What is it that makes you think the poses are overly stiff? I accept that Intimidator Initiate is very composed, but I felt Strip Bare was reasonably dynamic. Surely by darkening the latters background would lose contrast with the darker figure rather than gain it? Thanks for the comments, but I don't entirely agree with them.

Lone Wolf; Glad you feel I am continuing to improve. Thanks :)

Gregg; Thanks very much.

LORD M; Nice to know you are alreday familiar with my work :) This set required a darker, more sombre mood, and I enjoyed working with that subdued palette.

el coro; Thanks very much. Appreciated.

Interceptor; Thanks. I was happy with the misty feel in that first one :)

Kaffinated; Thanks.

se7en_; No coffee! That would be tragic ;) Thanks.

hurricane; Thanks. glad you like the charactersiation. The Boggarts are a lot of fun :)

Thaw naing; Thanks very much. Pleased you like it.

Mikko K; Great. Thanks.

spookybabydoll; Good to hear it, thanks.

digitalfly; Good to hear you feel I have got dynamism into these. Thanks :)

Thanks again to everyone.

Cheers,

Ralph

These came out great Ralph. I was thinking about posting my Shadowmoor cards as well, but I'm not so sure now!
Really nice- I gotta snag a Horsley print for my wall one of these days.

OMG! Man, the first is beautiful and the last is MAD! Absolutely cool stuff!
How long time did they take you approximately to be rendered?

Great! I think the best is, how you show a lot detail in the first one. The backround is just...just... OMFG ^.^

Hey Ralph these are great. I can remember being very impressed when I saw the house smashing giant while working on this set.

Hi,

Thanks for the comments.

Pavel Sokov; Thnaks. I enjoyed working iwthin that more muted environment. Yeah, I think earthy summs it up well, and I'm pleased you feel I hit the mark :)

scott*altmann; Thanks Scott, and you should post yours. The ones on your web site are sweet. I especially like the firefly-chappy, and would be very happy to do a print swap :)

thanos5; Thanks very much. It usually takes me a day to sketch one of these, then a couple of days to paint.

Mepp; Yeah, I do find myself drawn to detail - even when I try to show restraint ;) Pleased it works for you.

Rusty Baby; Hey Dave, glad you like 'em - the Giant is one that seemed to come together nicely - thanks :)

Kelly x; Thanks very much, but I think moors tend to be perpetually windswept ;)

Thnaks everyone.

cheers,

Ralph

Excellent!

Cool composition on Furystoke Giant.

I dunno if you play Magic, but you might be pleased to hear that Fire-lit Thicket is going to be one of the more expensive cards in this set. ;)

Hi,

SMVidaurri; I am very pleased you feel I have managed to get some dynamism into these, and combined it with strong compositions. Thanks very much - appreciated :).

banhatin; The setting is sombre in tone, and working with a more subdued palette was enjoyable. Thanks :)

HunterKiller_; Thanks very much. Interested to hear about the Fire-lit Thicket, always a nice boost if that happens :)

Thanks,

Ralph
