just go get a book on guns and you should be able to figure out the similar components in every weapon then you can play with them.

I used This book (http://www.amazon.com/Weapon-Visual-History-Arms-Armor/dp/0756622107/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1209604196&sr=8-1)for a history project once, it has everything from sticks-and-stones to ak-47's, it's a massive book, high rez photos left and right. a great reference.

go see if your local library has it? that's free, right?

Google the different gun makers/importers,
ie; Sturm Ruger, Winchester, Remington, Bennelli,
Navy Arms, Kimber, etc, etc, etc.....they usually
have blown up schematics of their firearms available
for their customers on their websites.
